About H.WYATT

H.WYATT is based on two things: slowing down and the Swedish philosophy of Mys, interchangeable with coziness - but more than just the feeling of coziness, it’s an entire way of life.

Homemade breads and sweets, along with a few Swedish favorites to-go will be available in the bakery. Our recipes are centuries-old family comfort foods. We don’t churn our own butter like they did, but we do use real butter.

In the shop, items are both curated and created in a classic Scandinavian aesthetic: beautiful, helpful, functional. There are hand-felted items, plant propagation to bring the outside in during cold winters and year-round, handmade pottery, cooking tools, and more. In our children’s area, there are places just their height - with books, toys, and cozy new friends to explore.

I’m Cathy Nelson. Both sides of my family are from the Woodhull area. My great-grandfather came from Sweden when he was two years old. Bishop Hill was a magical place where time seemed to pause. You walk. You eat. Find beautiful things. Explore the history and present day that celebrate this special village.

Once we found the opportunity to be a part of this incredible community - we couldn’t stop thinking about it. We knew this was the place for H.WYATT: bakery, mercantile, and cafe.

Named after our son, Henry Wyatt, who’s namesake is Henry County, we never dreamed that we would actually be in Henry County opening H.WYATT so soon after he was born. Here we are! We are so excited!

Please stop by, we can’t wait to meet you~
